[Press Release] - POOLTEES.COM HOSTS FIRST EVER WET T-SHIRT CONTEST AT APA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Las Vegas, NV - Attendees at this year's Poolapalooza party, held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino, host site of the 2007 APA National Championships, received quite a surprise treat when PoolTees.com, in conjunction with Incentives International, hosted the first ever ‘PoolTees.com Wet T-shirt Competition' featuring five ‘well-proportioned' and overly silly male (yes male) contestants.

An estimated crowd size of over 1,500 turned out to witness the debauchery and all-out shenanigans as the contestants break-danced, jumped around and back flipped, all in the hopes of being selected as the first ever ‘PoolTees.com Wet T-shirt Model' and earning a free 7-day/6-night vacation for two, courtesy of Incentives International - Travel Promotions, Wearables and Advertising Specialists. Runner-up prizes included: 1) a $70 prize package from Castillo Leather Goods, 2) a brand new OB-1 cue shaft, 3) a brand new cue and case donated by the folks at PoolDawg.com, 4) a five t-shirt shopping spree from events host PoolTees.com.
The premise was simple, each of the five contestants had approximately 45 seconds to impress the judges and each would be scored by their ability to excite the crowd as they pranced and danced while being soaked with buckets of water. The judging panel included: Sandy Schuman of Inside English Billiards Magazine, artistic pool legend Tom Rossman (aka Dr. Cue), CEO of Stealth Cues - Mark Stoller, and Tina from Predator Cues.

According to Stoller, “I knew from the start, the guy that gives the most energy and goes the extra step was going to get the best score from myself and the other judges.” And so it went that participant number three, Daniel Trevino from Bangor, MI, who put on a very well executed break-dance routine, received a perfect score of 10 from every member of the judging panel, deeming him the first ever winner of the ‘PoolTees.com Wet T-shirt Contest'.
“Man I'm so excited to win this competition” said Trevino. “Winning the trip means so much to me. Although she so-desperately wanted to, my mother was unable to come out to Vegas to watch me compete, and support me in the APA National Championships. It would have been the first time to Vegas for the both of us and I so desperately wanted to share the experience with her. Now, thanks to you guys at PoolTees and Incentives International, I'll be able to use my prize to bring her here with me for a nice vacation to show her how much I care.”

“We couldn't have asked for a happier ending,” said Brian Lowe, president of BML Communications, the public-relations experts hired by PoolTees to plan and manage the event details. “We were really excited when PoolTees came to us with the idea for this unique, challenging and entertaining event because that's really what the sport of pool is; unique, challenging and entertaining. Pool players are the salt of the earth--generating these good-humored events gives the sport recognition and publicity benefiting everyone in the billiards community and we hope to be a part of more events soon to come.”

[Press Release] - EXCERPT FROM OCTOBER 2006 ISSUE OF POOL AND BILLIARD MAGAZINE
There's a new kind in town” exclaims PoolTees.com President Jay Schwartz. “We're blowin' up.”
PoolTees is a brand new distributor of hip billiard apparel. “People are so happy to see our new design offerings. The term most commonly used to describe our shirts is ‘refreshing.'”
Since their inception less than two years ago, PoolTees has grown from strictly an online business, to expo and convention exhibitors, to a full-fledged pool hall and retail store distributor. “The APA Team Championships in August was a big step for us,” says Schwartz. “That was our first chance to gain exposure on a large scale. We also made a lot of important contacts, with industry insiders and pool hall owners. Everyone has been very willing to give us advice about this or that show we should go to. And we're very appreciative. I think they're excited to see another dimension added to the billiard industry. Granted billiard apparel companies have been around for awhile, but we're bringing a fresh approach and re-vitalizing the market.”
Women's designs comprise a large part of PoolTees' offerings. Their “Scotch Doubles” and “Chicks Hustle Too” designs have been favorites among the ladies. “The girls' shirts have been the most popular sellers from the start. We make it a point to offer lots of different designs and shirt styles for everyone share in the fun. As far as the guys go, they love ‘Major League Hustling' and ‘Drunk Pool'”.
The PoolTees name is spreading fast. They now sponsor tournaments across the country, including the Rockford Bar Box Series, out of Rockford, IL, and the New York City based Tri-state Tour. They also sponsor some up-and-coming professional players, including WPBA touring pros Liz Ford and Terri Mason, in addition to UPA Veteran Corey Harper and 15-yr old UPA phenom Michael Tosado. “Keep an eye out” jokes Schwartz. “PoolTees is coming to a display case near you.” If you're a pool hall or retail storeowner and would like to request a catalog, email business@pooltees.com.
